The judge who presided over my adoption.

Spread the love

While working on my memoir, I found my adoption certificate in my Dropbox. I don’t remember exactly why I scanned it and put it in there, but I decided to pull it up and read the PDF file of it again.
I am guessing my biological mother gave me the name of Marie just for my baptism. I heard that all the babies at the DePaul Infant home were baptized in the Catholic faith. So at the top it reads that my name prior to being adopted was Baby Girl (a.k.a: Marie) Cosier.
When I got to the bottom of the certificate, I saw that the judge who presided over my adoption was the Honorable Francis J. Taltry. The name sounded familiar, so I looked it up.
It turns out that the judge who presided over my adoption was also the judge for the infamous Sam Sheppard murder case! I have to think about whether I should include that in my memoir or not.
